When Global Blue began to scale their digital strategy, their demands for a seamless omnichannel customer experience exceeded the limitations of their previous CMS. It could not keep up with the demands of a modern global website, posing particular challenges in multisite and multilingual capabilities. Partnered by Arvato, Magnolia stepped in to provide and enhance Global Blue's online international presence.

The vision for the project was to rebuild and improve Global Blue's online presence with a seamless and engaging omnichannel customer experience. The goal was to meet the unique needs of travelers, retailers, investors, and job candidates by delivering a consistent user experience across all channels and devices everywhere in the world.

The Solution

Extensibility driving scale and value

Global Blue leverages Magnolia’s headless architecture to seamlessly integrate with their front-end solution, Angular. While Magnolia provides a flexible and scalable solution for content management, the Angular front-end provides a modern and dynamic user experience.

In addition to their global website, Magnolia’s headless capabilities are used to power Global Blue’s mobile app and unique features such as a comprehensive store finder based on data from Salesforce. The integration of a CDP such as Salesforce creates a more personalized user experience, with customers being able to access relevant content and find stores close to them.

One of the main goals was to reach specific major customer segments in China and with Magnolia, Chinese customers now benefit from great customer experiences with Global Blue. Magnolia provides a stable and secure central content hub for all application needs. Most importantly, Magnolia provides a digital workbench for all extensions and integrations, helping Global Blue develop new solutions to provide value to their customers.
