Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can I work fully remotely?
Sure you can! More than 40% of Magnolians work 100% remotely, and most of the rest work in an easy-going home office set up where possible. However, we enjoy it when people visit our HQ or any other office hub nearby. We believe that human connection goes a long way, while flexibility is still much valued.
Do you allow for flexible work schedules?
Yes, we do! Our team spirit allows flexibility for the individual and strives for balanced capacity planning within the team. We are an outcome-oriented company. We trust our employees to use their freedom responsibly.
Where are Magnolia offices located?
Our headquarters is in Basel, Switzerland, but we have several offices and coworking places around the world. Please see all our office locations here.
What if I need to relocate?
We embrace the desires and needs of digital nomads, expatriates, or anyone who might wish to set anchor in a new destination while working for us; therefore, we are open to finding solutions for relocation requests.
How diverse and inclusive is Magnolia’s recruitment process?
We apply our Diversity and Inclusion Policy in our recruitment.
At Magnolia, we are committed to:
- a workplace that is free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimization, and vilification;
- treating employees fairly and with respect;
- a workplace culture that is inclusive and embraces individual differences;
- equal employment opportunities based on ability, performance, and potential.
Does Magnolia have an employee referral program?
We believe that the best advertisement that we can get starts in-house. Magnolians are encouraged to recommend talents they consider a great addition to the company. We also have an attractive remuneration scheme, as the cherry on top. We encourage anyone interested to reach out to friends or former colleagues who work at Magnolia so that they can inform our HR department.
Do you hire students?
We have a well-established internship program where students are welcome to join Magnolia on a full-time or part-time basis. We also encourage students to apply for junior roles whenever available.
What are the steps/stages in the selection process?
We respect the time and energy of everyone invested in working for us. We aim to reward that with a speedy and efficient recruitment process.
While there might be some differences in the recruitment process for our various roles, these usually follow three stages, which will be set out in the introductory call with our HR team.
Are there any tests/assessments included in the selection process?
Usually, for technical roles, we do have a take-home assignment or an onsite technical interview. For other roles, you might be asked to present a case study you’ve worked on.
Do I need to add a Cover letter to my application?
No Cover Letter is necessary for our roles. We are mindful of your time and believe that once we have the chance to get to know you in an interview, that will suffice to learn about your motivations, aspirations, and drivers to Magnolia. However, you’re welcome to send applications with a personal message.
When can I expect to hear back from you after submitting my application?
We try our best to reply as soon as possible to job applications. However, due to the many CVs coming in daily, you should expect to hear back from us in a maximum of two weeks if your application has been selected for an interview.
